It was built by Nanasaheb Peshwa, surrounding the picturesque Parvati Hill. With its pleasant lawns along with its glittering fountains, it is an ideal place to rest and relax. There is a famous Ganesh Temple built by Madhav Rao Peshwa in 1774. The Ganesh Murti Museum .located here, features a large number of Ganesh statues.
Apart from being a zoo it has facilities for a few animal rides & boating. It is undertaken by the government (Pune Municipal Corporation). There is a mini train called " PHOOL RANI" to entertain small kids as well as their parents.

Parvati Hill & Temple
Parvati is the one of the most scenic locations in Pune. It is situated at a height of 2100 feet above sea level. The temples on Parvati hill are the oldest heritagestructures in Pune and reminiscent of the Peshwa dynasty. It offers an aerial view of the city and for the punekars, it is a respite from the noise and pollution of city life. There is one Devdeveshwar temple on the hill and other temples of Lord Kartikeya, Vishnu and Vitthal. Every temple has a place in the history of the Maratha empire.
Parvati gates open at 5.00 am and close at 8.00 pm.
Shrimant Dagadu shet Halwai Ganapati Temple
This temple has been the centre of attraction in Pune. If you come to the city of Pune and don’t go to this holy shrine of Hindu Lord Ganesh, you will miss something very important. The temple is situated at a walking distance from the Shaniwar wada. Shrimmant Dagdusheth Ganesh is considered to be the richest deity in Pune.
