Mohammed Thakurufaanu Tomb
Tomb of Mohammad Thakurufaanu in Maldives is a must visit tourist attraction destination. Located in the compound of the Bihuroazu Kamanaa Miskiiy, it has a lot of significance for the people of this country. Mohammad Thakurufaanu tomb in Maldives was built in the memory of Sultan Ghaazee Mohammed Thakurufaanu, a great national hero, who liberated Maldives from the colonial rule of Portuguese. Portuguese established their rule over the country for about 15 years after overthrowing Sultan Ali VI in 1558. It is because of this brave Sultan that the countrymen enjoy their freedom.

The grand Friday mosque includes the famous Islamic center. Grand Friday mosque has a capacity to accommodate nearly 5000 people.

Hukuru Miskiiy
Hukuru Miskiiy in Maldives is the oldest mosque of the country that was established in the year 1656. This old Friday mosque was set up during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim Iskandhar I. Hukuru Miskiiy is known for its fine lacquer work and intricate woodcarvings.

These islands are no more than six feet above sea level and lie 73 degrees East Equator. The islands are grouped into nineteen administrative 'atolls', and vary in size and character. Some are sandbanks, while others are tropical islands, with lush vegetation, ringed with coral reefs, turquoise lagoons full of marine life, and white sandy beaches. An atoll is a group of islands with a reef that nearly or entirely encloses a ring-like lagoon.

The National Museum
The National Museum of Maldives is one of the major tourist attractions at Maldives. This was originally an old palace building which was later converted into a museum. In fact the museum is housed at Sultan Park, which was a part of the Sultan's palace. Here you can find several objects which were used by the Sultan.
