Laid out in 1847, the Government Botanical Gardens is the most beautiful jewel on the crown of the "Queen of Hill Stations“.The fossil of a tree trunk believed to be 20 million years old is preserved here. The garden spread over 22 hectares possess lush green lawns, six sections comprising varieties of tree species, variety of ferns, fashioned beds, an Italian formal garden, flowering plants, house ferns, orchids and nurseries.

The beautiful Ooty lake is a favourite tourist place in Ooty. There are various facilities for boating on the lake and pony rides for children around it.
Dodabetta Peak is the highest peak in the Nilgiris. It is famous tourist attraction in Ooty . it lies at the junction of Western & Eastern Ghats and offers beautiful vistas of the Nilgiri Hills rangesMany of the national and international tourist visit this place every year.
This is located at DoddaBetta Peak’s lower bend, and is an excellent place for trekking.
Valley View Lake
This is the artificial lake ,he large graveyard of St. Thomas's church, built in 1870, overlooks the lake. It has the tallest memorial of Ooty, a huge pillar surmounted by a cross, over the grave of William Patrick Adam, the Governor of Madras Presidency, who died in Ooty in 1881. Paddleboats or rowing boats are available for boating enthusiasts. The lake garden and toy train are other attractions
It is located on the Mysore Road exhibiting varioustribal objects, representative sculptural arts and crafts of Tamil Nadu and the ecological details of the Nilgiri district.
With more than 3000 varieties of roses, Ooty rose garden has the largest collection of roses in India. The garden is well laid out in terraces with rose tunnels, pergolas and bowers with rose creepers. A small climb to “Nila Maadam” (view point within the garden) will enable one to view and admire the entire garden.
This is home to a variety of flowers and what is unique is that these are not natural flowers but made out of threads. It is believed that it took 12 years to create this garden.
The Roman Catholic church is believed to enshrine a relic of the ‘True cross’ on which Jesus Chirst was crucified. It is said to have been brought to India by anApostle’s delegate. Special Novena Prayers and Holy Masses are held here on every Friday and an annual feast is organized on May 3rd.
