Nehru Botanical Garden
Just ahead of the Rumtek Monastery is the Nehru Botanical Garden which has a mix of tropical and temperate plants and trees as well as a big greenhouse of exotic orchids. For children there is a small playground with swings and a see-saw and a winding footpath is ideal for a stroll.

Do Drul Chorten
Do Drul Chorten is one of the many important attractions of Gangtok. It is regarded as the most important \’stupa\’ of Sikkim. Built in 1945 by Trulshi Rimpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism, this stupa also has sacred gold-topped shikhara with 108 prayer wheels.

The Handicraft Centre
The DHH is a store house of hand - woven woolen carpets, with traditional motifs, blankets, shawls and exquisitely carved 'Choktse' or table and many other gift items.

The Mall & The Ridge
Situated along the North Sikkim Highway, it is only 8 kms from Gangtok. From this point one gets a breath taking view of Mt. Khangchendzonga, one of the most graceful peaks in the world. An Observatory Tower, Cafeteria and Public amenities have also been recently added.

Institute of Tibetology
A must visit in Gangtok, the Namgyal Institute was built in the year 1958 to promote research in Mahayan Buddhism and Tibetan language and traditions. Built in a traditional style, this institute has world’s largest collections of books and rare manuscripts on Mahayan Buddhism.
